Last weekend was the beginning of the wedding dress hunt and I had an entourage with me (Aunt Kathy, Aunt Mimi, Mom - of me the bride and Jill, the maid of honor) and three stores lined up. Lizelle's was first at 10AM - The feeling of putting on a wedding dress for the first time is the weirdest feeling. I was really hot and clammy, smiling like a goofy girl. I had a fun trying on all kinds of styles and designers. I actually got quite comfortable to being out in the open down to my bloomers ready for the next dress to show off like it was my job (secret desire to be a runway model). I was really happy to have the advice of my dress hunting team. We pick the best out of the bunch (an Allure that was $1089, plus alterations, plus ordering free, plus blah blah blah and I REFUSE to spend that much!), then moved on to the next place. This place was downtown, and when I was filling out the "application" for their records it asked what price range I was shopping and the first price started at $1500. I was like, "Mmmmm, do you carrying anything under $1000?" She looked at me like I had two heads, started walking toward the back and over her shoulder said, "back here are floor models". Needless to say we turned around and walked right out the door! That gave us more time for our next stop on the trip - Reading Terminal Market! I have wanted to go and check out this historic and delicious place full of every type of food you could ask for in one place since Troy and I moved to Philadelphia. We walked up and down each isle and then decided what each of us wanted to eat for lunch. We all grabbed different food -corn beef sandwiches, sushi, crab cake. Can't forget a nibble of dessert! then off we went to the third place where I got out of the car without my entourage and simply asked the front desk what price their dresses started at and she said "$2000" and I said, "I'd like to cancel my appt." When we got home I was a little disappointed - wanting to find " the one" (it took me how long to find Troy? - if it takes that long we'll have to postpone the wedding to the next century - HA!) My wedding dress hunters gave me a children's book called The Missing Wedding Dress about Barbie and they had all signed it to remind me of my first day out looking for the perfect wedding dress. Thank you all for helping me! Later while talking to Troy, he assured me that I would find one. So I ended up going to David's Bridal on Monday and I think I found it! But that's all I'm telling. :)
