Two Pieces of Pizza and a Glorious Walk

Welcoming Spring with a nice walk to the pizzeria on a warm Wednesday evening. We enjoyed looking at all the crocuses and daffodils flowers and collecting monkey balls. The pizza was real good too. We all walked back to Aunt Jenny and Uncle Troy's house where we greeted Uncle Troy while on the front porch as he pulled up the mountain. We made cat houses and forts, drank some wine and had a nice dinner. I so love having my sister, Jill, Nate, Stella and Silas in Philadelphia. Photos from our walk:

Frida Kahlo Exhibit

This weekend Troy and I with his family (Uncle Paul & Larry, Jason & Shelley, Bill Chrissie & Wyatt) went to the Frida Kahlo Exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art -
"Organized in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the artist's birth, Frida Kahlo is the first major Kahlo exhibition in the United States in nearly fifteen years. It presents over forty of the artist's most important self-portraits, still lifes, and portraits from the beginning of her career in 1926 until her death in 1954. Rendered in vivid colors and realistic detail, Kahlo's jewel-like paintings are filled with complex symbolism, often relating to specific incidents in her life. In her iconic self-portraits the artist continually reinvented herself. Paintings like The Two Kahlos (1939) demonstrate her penchant for self-examination, and works like Henry Ford Hospital (1932) and The Broken Column (1944) express her struggles with illness throughout her life."

Wedding Soup

I have been wanting to learn how to make wedding soup for some time now. My sister-in-law-to-be Shelley makes WONDERFUL wedding soup and her soup has definitely been an influence in my want to learn. I knew a lot of love went in to rolling each of those meatballs and now I know first hand. With the help of my new Giada cook book (given to me for my birthday from Jill) I made some pretty delicious wedding soup!

A lot of meat balls made with love

Niece and Nephews

We are proud to be Aunt Jenny and Uncle Troy to Stella (3.5 yrs old), Wyatt (2.5 yrs old) and Silas (1.5 yrs old). On Saturday we took the kids to hike in Valley Forge and back to our house for naps, dinner, play time, bath time, book time and bedtime! My Mom and Don surprised us for the day and we celebrated Nathan's Birthday! All the kids got along famously and it couldn't have been a better day.
